      Qualified candidate must have 3-5 years’ experience or be certified specialist in Workers’ Compensation.  Candidate must be able to handle a complex case load in a paperless environment.    Trial experience and demonstrated results deposing medical specialists is a must.   While WCAB venues are limited to closer to the office worked, at times candidates must be willing to travel to all Southern California Boards.

    • Various Positions: Experienced Workers’ Compensation Defense Assistant / File Clerk - Pasadena and San Diego Offices  
    • Currently seeking qualified,  full-time legal assistant with a minimum of 3 years workers’ compensation defense experience. Candidates must have the ability to maintain an organized workspace, take initiative and understand the firm directive.

      Other general skills and requirements include:

      • Defense experience necessary;
      • Transcription experience a must;
      • Experience in a paperless filing system is a plus;
      • Must be able to manage a large file inventory;
      • The ability to adhere to law office practice and procedure;
      • The skill to identify urgent tasks and to prioritize each accordingly;
      • Ability to adapt to change is a must;
      • Knowledge of office calendar procedures;
      • Effective oral and written communication skills;
      • Excellent proofreading skills;
      • EAMS filing experience;
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook;
      • Excellent time-management skills;
      • Ability to type a minimum of 80 words;
      • Ability to perform assigned duties with minimum supervision;
      • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with clients, associates and staff;
      • Must have eagerness to learn, great attitude, and willingness to be part of a team.
